Staff Sergeant Lambert served in the first wave during the Operation Torch, Operation Husky, as well as Operation Overlord, where he earned his third Silver Star as well as his fourth Purple Heart. His memoir was released to coincide with the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

RAY LAMBERT (shown below from our Wall of Fame) received three Silver Stars, two Bronze Stars, and four Purple Hearts for his service as a medic and staff sergeant during WWII. He participated in the American invasion of North Africa under General Omar Bradley, the invasion of Sicily, and on the shores of Normandy on D-Day, before being honorably discharged in 1945.
