ALEX GEORGE (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) is a saxophone-playing amateur chef who was named one of England's top ten writers under forty. He is now a U.S. citizen and his first book published in this country, A Good American was named Book of the Year by The Library Journal and the American Booksellers Association. It's also one of our all-time favorites and when the American Booksellers Association had a nationwide contest for bookstores selling this title, The Alabama Booksmith finished number one.
