THE VENTRILOQUISTS finds a young girl, Helene, masquerading as a boy and selling newspapers to survive on the streets of 1943 Brussels. When the Nazis pressure her friend, a publisher of dissident underground newspapers, to betray his cause or die, they and their peers decide to pretend to cave to the German demands, but plan to release a final edition ruthlessly mocking their oppressors, even if it means their own ends.

THIS COPY (shown below) was hand signed on the half-title page by E.R. Ramzipoor at her home. It is a new, unread first edition opened only for signing and comes with a certificate authenticating the signature. Published in August, 2019 by Park Row, an imprint of HarperCollins. So our collectors will know, the dust jackets are made of a material that is easily scuffed, and although every book in our store is new, opened only for signing, these copies show a little ding here or there.
